Fulham: Whites Talks Expected For Star International

Fulham are expected to open talks over the signing of versatile Fenerbache defender Ferdi Kadioglu, according to reports out of Turkey.

Who will join Fulham this summer?

As per recent rumours, the Whites and manager Marco Silva are getting busy in identifying transfer targets ahead of what will be a crucial 2023/2024 season.

Fulham comfortably avoided relegation last time round and even contended for Europe following a first full campaign back in the Premier League.

Silva’s side wish to upgrade key areas of the squad, defensively, in midfield and further forward, with Man United midfielder Fred, Leicester City defender Timothy Castagne, Coventry City’s Viktor Gyokeres and Norwich full-back Max Aarons.

Fulham star Joao Palhinha, after his own exceptional debut season in England, is said to be a man in demand as well with Man United, Liverpool and West Ham all eyeing up a move for the £90 million man.

It appears there could be a flurry of both incomings and outgoings at Craven Cottage this summer window, and according to Turkish-Football sources, they have their eyes on Kadioglu of Fenerbache.

Fulham manager Marco Silva

The 23-year-old, who has been capped for Turkey’s national team, is a player attracting serious interest from Silva and co with Fulham scouts running the rule over him recently.

Most interestingly, club chiefs have been impressed with some of his performances, and it is expected that formal Fulham talks to sign the player will take place.

This is after Fenerbache were contacted by the west London side, and if they can find middle ground on price, it is believed they will commence negotiations.

Who is Ferdi Kadioglu?

Kadioglu is described as a versatile right-back option, who can play on either flank, at wing back and even the winger positions.

Only Attila Szalai played more top flight minutes than the young defender last season, showcasing what an indispensable asset he is for Fenerbache.

During that time, Kadioglu chipped in with three goals and four assists, completing the 22/23 campaign as one of Fenerbache’s best-performing players per 90 according to WhoScored.

The Turk also averaged their joint-highest rate of tackles per 90 at the back, with Emre Sarigul, founder of Turkish-football.com, tipping him to a success way back in 2020.

Rangers Can Forget Dessers With Swoop For £8k-p/w Ace

Glasgow Rangers head coach Michael Beale has been a busy man in the summer transfer window as he has wasted no time in attempting to bolster his squad at Ibrox ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling, and Jack Butland have all been snapped up on free transfers from Norwich, Chelsea, and Crystal Palace respectively and will officially arrive on the 1st of July.

The club have also completed the permanent signing of Dutch centre-forward Sam Lammers for an undisclosed fee from Serie A side Atalanta to improve their options at the top end of the pitch.

However, one number nine from the Italian top flight who will not be joining the Light Blues this summer is Cremonese ace Cyriel Dessers.

The Gers were reportedly closing in on an initial €4.2m (£3.6m) deal for the Nigerian but the 28-year-old has opted to turn down a move to Ibrox as he would prefer to remain in Italy, despite his team's relegation to Serie B.

Rangers transfer news – Lyndon Dykes interest

Beale could move on from Dessers this month by completing a deal to sign reported transfer target Lyndon Dykes, who is currently playing in the Championship with Queens Park Rangers.

The Scotland international has the potential to be a shrewd addition to the squad as he has already worked with the Light Blues boss in the past and is a proven performer in the Scottish Premiership.

QPR striker Lyndon Dykes.

Dykes played under Beale at the start of 22/23 before the Englishman made the switch to Ibrox and plundered six goals in 21 league outings before he went on to score two in the 18 games after the coach's departure.

The 27-year-old, who registered a goal and an assist in Scotland's recent 2-1 win over Norway, clearly thrived under the Rangers chief and this is backed up by the 42-year-old saying "he is giving me everything he can give me" during their time together.

Adapting to football in the Premiership could also be easy for the Australian-born marksman, who ex-boss Mark Warburton hailed as "outstanding", as the powerhouse racked up 11 goals and eight assists in 28 top-flight outings for Livingston before his move to England.

Dykes could be an ideal option to bolster the club's number nine options due to his pre-existing relationship with the manager and his knowledge of Scottish football.

Therefore, Beale could forget about Dessers and move on from the forward, who scored six Serie A goals in 22/23 and has no experience in Scotland, by reuniting with the £8k-per-week QPR ace this summer.

New Zealand snatch win in dramatic last session

New Zealand took nine wickets in a dramatic final session to seal a 2-0 series whitewash as Pakistan collapsed against the second new ball to slump to a 138-run defeat

Fernando: Sarfraz run-out was the pivotal moment

New Zealand took nine wickets in a dramatic final session, sealing a 2-0 series whitewash as Pakistan collapsed against the second new ball to slump to a 138-run defeat. When the final session began, the draw seemed the likeliest result by far, and a New Zealand win perhaps less likely than a Pakistan win. With a minimum of 34 overs left, Pakistan needed 211, with nine wickets in hand. Those nine wickets fell in the space of 24.3 overs, the last six to the second new ball in the space of 11 overs. On a pitch that offered little help to the bowlers apart from occasionally inconsistent bounce – which became less of a factor as the ball aged – New Zealand gave themselves a chance by playing the waiting game as Pakistan plotted a heist of their own. Pakistan had chased down two 300-plus targets in the last two years, both times against Sri Lanka – 302 in two sessions in Sharjah, and 377 in Pallekele. Here, chasing 369, Azhar Ali and Sami Aslam added 131 for the first wicket in 60 overs to set them a platform for a possibly Sharjah-esque finish. With the required rate creeping past six an over at the start of the final session, Kane Williamson’s tactics began to yield their desired results. His defensive fields had kept Pakistan in the game without letting them get too close, and now, they asked the batsmen to take risks.Babar Azam, going after a wide, flighted ball from Mitchell Santner, dragged the ball onto his stumps, replicating Azhar’s dismissal before tea. Aslam, failing to get elevation while looking to clear mid-off, fell ten short of a maiden Test hundred. Then Sarfraz Ahmed was run out, looking to steal a suicidal second run. Pakistan were suddenly four down, with the new ball three overs away.New Zealand took it as soon as it was available, and brought their field in, with the target now well beyond Pakistan: 169 in 21 overs. Tim Southee and Matt Henry had barely swung the first new ball. They began swinging the second one appreciably. Younis Khan, tentative right through the series and out chasing a wide ball in the first innings, chased again an edged Southee wide of gully. Then Henry struck in his first over with the new ball, angling it into Asad Shafiq and curling it away late. Looking to play the initial angle, Shafiq closed his bat face and popped a catch to point off the leading edge. Twenty balls later, Younis thrust his pad out at a Southee inswinger. Umpire S Ravi turned down the bowler’s appeal, but was forced to change his decision when New Zealand reviewed and ball-tracking showed the ball carrying on to hit the top of off stump. At the crease now were a debutant, Mohammad Rizwan, and a lower-order batsman known more for slogging than defending, Sohail Khan, with 16.3 overs remaining. They held out long enough to prompt a bowling change, Henry giving way to the gentler pace of Colin de Grandhomme, but Sohail drove without moving his feet and spooned a catch to cover.Eleven overs remained; Pakistan would only last 13 more balls, as Neil Wagner, coming on for Southee, blasted out the last three. He took out his fellow left-arm quicks, Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz, in the space of three balls, both nicking him to the keeper, before ending the game with the first ball of his next over, banging the ball in and forcing the No. 11 Imran Khan to fend to short leg.Rizwan, having fallen for a golden duck in his first Test innings, remained not out on 13 in his second. In hindsight, he may have wished he hadn’t taken a single off the first ball of Wagner’s spell and exposed Pakistan’s tail to his pace and bounce.Given the start their openers made, Pakistan would never have expected their tail to strap their pads on. By staying in the middle as long as they did, Azhar and Aslam seemed to have ticked off the first box in the team’s checklist: that of ensuring they wouldn’t lose.Sami Aslam fell ten runs short of a maiden Test hundred•Getty ImagesWith roughly four sessions of the Test match lost to rain, there was less wear and tear on the Seddon Park pitch than a typical fifth-day surface. There wasn’t much swing either, forcing Southee into bowling cross-seam within the first ten minutes of the day in an effort to rough up one side of the ball.Up-and-down bounce was the one major threat to Azhar and Aslam. Henry sneaked a shortish ball under Azhar’s bat in the 12th over of Pakistan’s innings, narrowly missing off stump, and then, in the 16th over, hit him on the glove with one that lifted from a good length. In the next over, Neil Wagner got a short ball to keep low as well, forcing Azhar to defend his stumps with a hurried jab with both feet off the ground.Wagner, typically, looked to test the openers with the short ball, using the angles adroitly and often, especially while bowling from left-arm around, delivering from as close to the return crease as humanly possible. Both batsmen handled him with a degree of ease, except for one instance when Aslam took his eye off the ball as it followed him from over the wicket and hit him on the side of the helmet. Both batsmen looked to play as straight as possible, with the threat of the shooter at the back of their minds, and this contributed to the glacial pace of run-scoring at the start of the day’s play. After 20 overs, Pakistan had only scored 21.Then, at the start of the 21st over, a bouncer from Wagner ran away for five wides and began a slight shift in the pattern of play. Azhar drove Henry for a four to the right of mid-off, and both batsmen sent square-cuts flying to the boundary in the next couple of overs. Aslam brought up the fifty stand in the 27th over, flicking Wagner to the backward square leg boundary, and soon afterwards sent a top-edged sweep off Mitchell Santner over the square-leg rope. The openers didn’t quite sustain the acceleration through the first half of the post-lunch session, scoring only 19 runs in the first 10 overs. As drinks approached, they began looking for sharp singles, and a more accurate throw from Henry Nicholls at short midwicket could have sent back Aslam in the 50th over. The drinks break provoked a distinct change in approach. Aslam pulled Wagner to the square-leg boundary, and then picked up two fours towards fine leg in one over from Henry, the first one a flick that went finer than intended, the second an inside-edged cover-drive.In all, Pakistan scored 51 in 13 overs after the drinks break, and were 158 for 1 at tea. Aslam was batting on 75, Azam on 16 off 23 balls, and their minds must have been busy calculating run rates and figuring out which boundaries to target after the break. Neither they nor their team-mates nor their opponents could have imagined what was to follow.

Tottenham Could Repeat Arteta Success With £120k-p/w "Beast"

After a disappointing eighth-place finish last term – as well as the failure to secure European qualification – Tottenham Hotspur are now looking forward to a brighter future under new boss Ange Postecoglou, with the 57-year-old arriving at N17 having only recently won the treble at Old Firm giants, Celtic.

While the Greek-Aussie has only just walked through the door in north London, he has already seemingly given his approval to the club's transfer plans, with 90min reporting that the Lilywhites are keen to sign a new centre-back this summer.

Among those who are being considered to bolster the backline is Manchester City star, Aymeric Laporte, with the same publication reporting back in April that Spurs had been offered the chance to sign the 29-year-old, with Pep Guardiola ready to sell the Spain international.

That willingness to part ways with the 20-cap "beast" – as hailed by writer Muhammad Butt – has come following the former Athletic Bilbao man's slide down the pecking order at the Etihad, with the experienced asset having been restricted to just 12 Premier League appearances this season.

Despite the £120k-per-week man's recent woes in Manchester, it could well be to Tottenham's gain if he was to depart, with Postecoglou and co potentially set to follow the lead of their north London rivals, Arsenal, by rejuvenating a City ace.

Should Tottenham sign Aymeric Laporte?

As far as Postecoglou is concerned, the signing of the five-time Premier League winner could potentially mirror the impact that both Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus have had at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta, with the former City duo having signed for the Gunners last summer for £32m and £45m, respectively.

Like Laporte, the pair had been somewhat on the periphery under Guardiola with Jesus expected to play second fiddle amid the arrival of Erling Haaland, while Zinchenko had made just ten top-flight starts in his final season in Manchester.

Since moving to the capital, however, the duo have been instrumental figures for Arsenal, having been vital in helping to push the club into title contention in 2022/23, with Jesus bagging 11 goals and seven assists in the league, while Zinchenko was praised for his "mentality" by Arteta.

Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko

As the latter man also noted, both men were able to bring "something different" to the Gunners due to their previous experience of winning major honours at their previous employers, with the pair having been in "many title races and fought for the biggest trophies", according to Bukayo Saka.

Much like that "special" pairing – as hailed by Saka – Laporte also has experience competing at the highest level of the game, ensuring that he could potentially share that knowledge with a Spurs side that has now gone 15 years without winning a trophy.

The 6 foot 2 ace would also be a quality addition for Postecoglou having previously been hailed as the "best left central defender in the world" by Guardiola, with it undoubtedly rare for such talents to come available.

Having seen the impact that both Jesus and Zinchenko have had on their rivals, Spurs would be wise to seal a transfer masterclass of their own with the signing of the towering defender.

Pochettino Could Bin Cucurella For Chelsea Prodigy

With the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino as the new Chelsea manager on the horizon, the Argentine must begin trimming a hideously bloated squad and attempt to repair the damage inflicted by the brazenly uncalculated Todd Boehly.

The new ownership has splashed extortionate funds on various underperforming players and with possible FFP regulations bearing down the west Londoners, they may need to resort to their wealth of academy talent as their saving grace.

One new signing, who has drastically failed to impress the Stamford Bridge faithful is Marc Cucurella, and his £60m transfer fee has emerged as a horrendous piece of business.

Meanwhile, Ian Maatsen, who spent the season on loan at Burnley has enjoyed an incredible year in the Championship and deserves to be integrated into the future first-team plans by the incoming boss.

Who is Ian Maatsen?

The 21-year-old has made 39 appearances in the second tier and has been an integral cog of a side that scored the most goals (87) and conceded the fewest (35) as Vincent Kompany’s side ruthlessly cantered to the league title.

During this run, the left-back registered ten goal contributions, as well as averaging two tackles and 1.4 interceptions per game, to demonstrate himself as an astute all-rounder with imperious attacking and defensive capabilities.

In a previous loan spell at Coventry, his former teammate Simon Moore showered the youngster in praise and said: “It says a lot about how good he is that even a slightly off day stands out as exceptional.

Ian-Maatsen

“It is not normal. The kid is bright, he’s hugely talented, he wants to learn, and he never gives up. Maats has got an exciting future ahead of him.”

In the last two years, the Dutchman has ruthlessly exposed himself to be far too good for Championship football – an intoxicating blend of aggression, athleticism, technique, and tireless drive.

In a 2-1 win against Swansea in January, the full-back netted two wondrous screamers to underline his potency and industrious attacking flair.

Mark Robins has said he “exhibits maturity beyond his years” and this plethora of evidence makes a hugely compelling case for his inclusion in Pochettino’s plans.

Meanwhile, Cucurella has been unable to replicate the frightening dynamism and solidity he displayed at Brighton and is yet to make his mark in the capital.

The Spaniard dismally ranks in the bottom 28% in Europe’s top five leagues among his positional peers for progressive carries per 90, and his inability to acclimatise to more pressurised surroundings has inhibited all his potential.

The full-back has simply made far too many errors this campaign, notably stepping wildly out of position which ultimately led to Ben Chilwell's red card against Madrid in the Champions League.

Thus, Pochettino walks into the job, he could seal an immediate masterclass by ditching the underperforming defender for a hungry fresh face.

Rangers Must Unleash "Impressive" £21k-p/w Gem

Glasgow Rangers will be aiming for nine points from their last three matches of the Scottish Premiership season in order to end the campaign on a high note.

Michael Beale’s side showed exactly what they can do if every member of the squad is pulling in the same direction during their Old Firm triumph at Ibrox last weekend, and an away trip to Easter Road to take on Hibernian this afternoon could allow the manager to experiment with the line-up slightly.

Beale will have to make a few decisions on his starting XI, and one of them should be unleashing Ianis Hagi from the first whistle, and having scored twice and grabbed an assist against Hibs in eight previous matches, he could cause havoc again.

Could Ianis Hagi start for Rangers against Hibs?

The £21k-per-week gem has not long returned to the squad following a year-long layoff due to an injury suffered in the Scottish Cup last year, and Beale has slowly reinstated him into the first team.

If Hagi can return to the form he displayed during the 2020/21 campaign, Beale will have a real star on his hands. Across 45 matches during that title-winning season, the Romanian scored eight goals and registered 15 assists – with 15 of these contributions coming in the league as the Gers strolled to success.

Soccer Football – Europa League – Round of 32 Second Leg – Rangers v Royal Antwerp – Ibrox, Glasgow, Scotland, Britain – February 25, 2021 Rangers’ Ianis Hagi during the warm up before the match Pool via REUTERS/Russell Cheyne

The Rangers Review journalist Joshua Barrie was full of praise for Hagi, lauding him as “impressive” while praising his ability to “split” teams open with his wide range of passing and creative talents.

Although perhaps not yet at his best since returning to the first-team fold, the 24-year-old has managed to succeed with 83% of his attempted dribbles and win 71% of his total duels across his six league appearances this term, and as his fitness improves, he will continue to get better and hopefully return to the form he showed pre-injury.

Should the manager be looking to take someone out of the firing line then the man Hagi replaced in the win over Celtic, Rabbi Matondo, could be a good bet.

He has shown flashes of brilliance this term, albeit in limited spells, and was dragged off with 20 minutes remaining of that Old Firm tie having made just five passes in the entire game, a damning indictment of his qualities.

Beale must unleash him today in order to allow him to showcase his talents, and he could well run Hibs' defence ragged.

Man United Now Leading Race For £100m-Rated Striker

Manchester United are at the front of the pack in the race to sign Victor Osimhen this summer, with Il Mattino in Italy stating that the Red Devils are "on pole" to land the striker.

What is the latest on Victor Osimhen to Man United?

The Premier League outfit have outlined their need for another striker already this summer, with boss Erik Ten Hag intending to try and add both another forward and a midfielder to his Old Trafford squad during the transfer window.

With his side struggling to hit the back of the net – only Marcus Rashford has scored a double-digit tally of Premier League goals for the club this term – the Dutchman will be eager to add another attacking option to his side this summer.

There have been several names already linked with a switch to United. Harry Kane has been one of the most notable, with some reports suggesting that the Spurs striker is high up on the Red Devils' wanted list.

However, one name that won't go away is that of Victor Osimhen, who currently plies his trade for Napoli. The forward has been heavily linked with a switch to England, with United one of the teams that have gathered the most mentions over a potential transfer for the player.

Now, it appears as though Ten Hag's side are in the driving seat to seal a deal for the attacker, with Il Mattino in Italy reporting that the Red Devils are "on pole" position in their efforts to try and add the player to their squad.

The report also states that the Old Trafford outfit have already been in negotiations with Napoli owner/president Aurelio De Laurentiis, with these talks happening all the way back at the beginning of the season. In addition to that, Napoli are also prepared to sell it seems if the right offer comes in, with the report adding that the Serie A outfit are not prepared to offer Osimhen any more money, with De Laurentiis not prepared to raise the wage budget. That means that if the Red Devils make the right offer, then a deal could be done for the player this summer.

Would Osimhen be a good signing for Man United?

With Man United toiling in front of goal, Osimhen firing in the goals upfront for the club would certainly be a boost for the side.

With 23 goals this season, it is the player's best ever return for Napoli and over the course of his career. At just 24-years-old too, the likelihood is that he will continue to improve and get better and so now would be a good time to sign up the striker. In fact, his goals and assists rate so far this campaign is 1.03 per 90 minutes – which means that, on average, he is guaranteed to do one or the other every single game he plays in.

In addition, the player has even received praise from opposition coaches. He's been called "phenomenal" by former Cagliari coach Walter Mazzarri for example after his performance in Napoli's victory over the Italian side. It shows just how impressive the striker has been in Serie A.

Ten Hag then would instantly upgrade his frontline with a player like Osimhen. Even if the player ends up costing a substantial amount of money, it would still be seen as good business if he could produce similar numbers at Old Trafford.

£80k-per-week flop has been a "liability" for Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers are a club that have been consistently praised for their recruitment ability, particularly through the introduction of Portuguese stars to the Premier League through Nuno Santo and Jorge Mendes.

The quality has always been there for Wolves, who have managed to maintain a good standard of football in the English top division since their promotion from the Championship in 2018. From Joao Moutinho to Ruben Neves, the Midlands has seen its fair share of Portuguese talent over the years, however it’s not always worked out for the players far away from home comforts.

Wolves missed a trick in keeping hold of Pedro Goncalves, who has shown his worth since leaving the Premier League to return to Portugal with Sporting Lisbon. While the 24-year-old was not given a real chance to show his talents in England, a current Wolves star has gone in the opposite direction, with having game time but unable to replicate form of the past.

Nelson Semedo was signed from Barcelona in 2020 for a fee of £36.8m after three memorable years in Spain. The right-back left the Camp Nou as a two-time La Liga winner and Copa del Rey winner, playing in a side that was dominating domestic competition and gaining a strong amount of playing time.

Once dubbed to have the ability to “reach Dani Alves’ level” by former Barcelona and Portugal goalkeeper Vitor Baia, Semedo’s move to England was one of excitement for Wolves fans as Mollineux geared up to watch a former teammate of Lionel Messi grace the Premier League.

So far during his time in Wolverhampton, the Lisboa-born full-back has failed to live up to expectations of the player Wolves envisioned they would be getting in a defender with 124 appearances for Barcelona.

How much has Nelson Semedo cost Wolves?

Whether it be the physical demand of the Premier League, the change in quality around him, or simply the weather, the 29-year-old has been a shell of his former self since arriving in England.

Described as being a “liability” and “frustrating” by journalist Nathan Judah for his often match-costing performances at Wolves, the Portuguese defender has had a tough time since being away from La Liga.

The Premier League isn’t for everyone, clubs and fans have seen many players over the years excel abroad and not live up to expectation when moved to the top tier of English football.

While an adaptation period is sympathised, Semedo’s third year in the league is coming up and little improvement has been seen, all as the fullback earns £80k-per-week regardless of performance.

The struggles Semedo has endured are highlighted best through his dip in form in comparison to his final season at the Catalan giant.

According to statistics provided by Opta, the inconsistent full-back was in the top 3% for pass completion and successful take-ons when compared to those in his position in LaLiga in 2019/20.

In the Premier League this season, meanwhile, the 29-year-old ranks in the top 31% for pass completion and top 16% for successful take-ons, telling the story of his failure to emulate past form.

Semedo has taken almost £12.3m from Wolves since his arrival in 2020 in wages, as well his £36.8m transfer fee, equating to a figure of £49.1m in just under three years.

It’s astonishing money for a player that has been far from astonishing in form.

David Moyes Could Be Sacked As West Ham Manager

David Moyes will reportedly be sacked as West Ham manager if his side lose their vital Premier League clash at Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

How much pressure is Moyes under?

The Hammers have had a bitterly disappointing season, having started it with potential European aspirations but now finding themselves right in the relegation fight. Performances and results have both been below-par throughout the campaign and it now leaves the east Londoners fighting for their lives during the business end of 2022/23.

Wednesday's 5-1 humbling by Newcastle United at the London Stadium was arguably the lowest moment of the season so far and there is no doubt that Moyes now finds himself under the most pressure he has been under. The Scotsman will surely be aware that his job is now hanging by a thread.

Now, a new claim has emerged regarding the West Ham boss' future, with today's trip to Fulham looking pivotal for him.

West Ham boss David Moyes

Could Moyes be sacked this weekend?

According to Football Insider, Moyes is "expected to be sacked" by the Hammers if they suffer defeat at Craven Cottage this weekend. The report states that "club chiefs are demanding an instant turnaround" in fortunes after the humiliation against Newcastle, starting in west London on Saturday.

The 59-year-old's "support in the David Sullivan-led boardroom is dwindling" and it is even claimed that the club have been "sounding out alternatives" to replace him.

This only highlights how important Saturday's clash with Fulham is, not only for Moyes but also generally in terms of West Ham's hopes of survival. Granted, they have one game in hand on those around them, but they are still only out of the relegation zone by virtue of goal difference and they don't look like picking up consistent points at the moment.

The hope is that Moyes is able to inspire a big performance out of his players this weekend, though, both potentially saving his job and easing the nerves of supporters in the process. It won't be easy, however, with Fulham sitting 10th in the Premier League after an impressive campaign.

Marco Silva has done an excellent job in charge and they will prove to be a stern test for the Hammers, although one thing that could give the visitors hope is that fact that the Cottagers have lost their last four matches, in all competitions.

The London Stadium, with West Ham fighting for their lives, could be a tough test for Fulham.

West Ham Can Unleash Teen Star With A "Massive Future"

West Ham United are reportedly considering Stade de Reims boss Will Still as a potential heir to David Moyes at the London Stadium and the 30-year-old could take Divin Mubama to the very top.

Could West Ham hire Will Still?

According to French news outlet Foot Mercato, the Hammers appreciate Still as an option for next season and the managerial prodigy could easily be tempted by a switch to the London Stadium, as he has already admitted to being a West Ham fan.

West Ham currently sit 18th in the Premier League with relegation a real option, which suggests that Moyes cannot be considered the long-term option in the dugout if the Hammers are to progress as a club.

Still, meanwhile, is fresh off the back of a 19-game unbeaten run in Ligue 1, which was only ended when his side suffered a 2-1 home defeat by Marseille last weekend, having avoided defeat against PSG twice and impressively beaten AS Monaco in that run.

At just 30, Still is the youngest manager in Europe's top leagues and has earned a lot of plaudits for his success with Les rouges et blancs, with journalist Julien Laurens labelling him a "genius" when it comes to tactical decisions in a recent interview.

One of the key reasons behind Still's success at Reims has been the superb form of Arsenal loanee Folarin Balogun, who trails only Jonathan David and Kylian Mbappe for goals in France's top flight so far this campaign.

The 21-year-old's 17 goals in just 27 Ligue 1 appearances is a testament to Still's impressive coaching, as his only other loan spell produced an underwhelming three goals in the Championship with Middlesbrough.

Could Will Still unleash Mubama?

Balogun's form indicates that Still knows how to get the best out of young strikers and should he move to West Ham, he could produce similar results with academy star Divin Mubama.

Despite West Ham's woes in front of goal so far this campaign, which see them ranked as one of the lowest scorers in the division, Moyes is yet to trust Mubama in the Premier League.

Divin-Mubama-West-Ham-United

The 18-year-old, who has been tipped for a "massive future" at the London Stadium by journalist Josh Bunting, has plundered in 11 goals in 15 Premier League 2 appearances this season and scored his first senior goal in the 4-0 triumph against AEK Larnaca last week.

There seems to be little that will stop the teenage striker from being a hit in West Ham's senior side in the future, and with Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio both struggling for form this term, with six league goals between them, Mubama might just get his chance under a progressive manager such as Still.

If he can replicate Balogun's form at Reims under the young Belgian, then he will surely fire the Hammers up the Premier League table next season.
