PONTUAÇÃO E COLOCAÇÃO DO SÃO PAULO APÓS A 25ª RODADA:

2018 – 50 pontos (1º lugar)
2017 – 28 pontos (17º)
2016 – 34 pontos (12º)
2015 – 41 pontos (5º)
2014 – 43 pontos (3º)
2013 – 27 pontos (17º)
2012 – 39 pontos (5º)
2011 – 45 pontos (2º)
2010 – 34 pontos (9º)
2009 – 44 pontos (2º)
2008 – 42 pontos (5º)
2007 – 53 pontos (1º lugar)
2006 – 50 pontos (1º lugar)

A PONTUAÇÃO DOS LÍDERES APÓS A 25ª RODADA:

2018 – 50 pontos – São Paulo
2017 – 54 pontos – Corinthians
2016 – 48 pontos – Palmeiras
2015 – 54 pontos – Corinthians
2014 – 53 pontos – Cruzeiro
2013 – 56 pontos – Cruzeiro
2012 – 53 pontos – Fluminense
2011 – 46 pontos – Vasco (Corinthians foi campeão)
2010 – 48 pontos – Fluminense

A VANTAGEM DO LÍDER PARA O VICE-LÍDER APÓS A 25ª RODADA:

Finn haul halts Durham

Four wickets from Steven Finn gave Middlesex a glimpse of an unlikely victory on the final evening but after more than half a match of rain interruptions the outcome was the one that was always the easiest to predict.

Four wickets from Steven Finn gave Middlesex a glimpse of an unlikely victory on the final evening but after more than half a match of rain interruptions the outcome was the one that was always the easiest to predict. An original target of 130 to win from 45 overs favoured a Durham win but heavy rain in mid-afternoon left them with a much more testing 122 off 16. While they might have backed themselves to score that in Twenty20 conditions, against Finn and Tim Murtagh coming off a full run to a cordon of slips and gullies, it was a different proposition. In the event, Middlesex came closest to pulling off a result after Finn, having rubbed off a little rustiness in the first innings, had worked up a good pace and claimed four for 43, Durham finishing six down.It meant the 23-year-old could walk away from Lord’s with a spring in his step despite the challenge thrown down by Graham Onions, whose ten wickets in the contest gave notice that he is pushing strongly for a recall to the England Test side.”I got better as the game went on. I had not bowled since the last Test in Sri Lanka so there a few cobwebs to blow away and I felt I bowled pretty well today,” Finn said.”It is great to have that competition, too. Graham was the best bowler in the match by a long way, he bowled beautifully.”He and I are in a similar position, on the fringes of the Test team. We are all fighting for the same spots but no one grudges anyone else doing well and I have huge respect for Graham, he is an awesome bowler.”In the final, shortened contest, Middlesex fancied themselves to steal a win, Finn said, given the conditions and the dilemma Durham faced over whether to chase the runs or content themselves with a draw.Yet they had been saved in effect by the ninth-wicket partnership between Tim Murtagh and John Simpson that held up Durham in an afternoon that had started with Onions, bristling with confidence after twice accounting for the beleaguered Andrew Strauss, taking two wickets in three balls.Dismissing Chris Rogers, who had looked to be Middlesex’s last hope of salvaging something, and then Gareth Berg, the Durham pace bowler appeared to have the home side by the throat at 91 for eight, with a lead of only 50.It came after a morning in which most of Middlesex’s batting had been scarcely more convincing than their returning England captain, whose second-ball dismissal for a duck on Friday was followed by a 25-ball six on Saturday, having been dropped on nought before Onions bowled him for a second time.”That sort of thing can happen,” Finn said, sympathising with his teammate. “People are allowed to bowl good balls and he got the same one twice. But that’s cricket and he’ll move on to the next game when hopefully he’ll get runs.”Onions, driven by his desire for a Test recall two years and three months after injury interrupted his international career, finished with 10 wickets in a match for the first time. But after he had taken a breather after three more overs in the afternoon session, Durham’s supporting bowlers really let an opportunity slip away. With Tim Murtagh swinging bravely and John Simpson, the wicketkeeper, batting cannily in support, the nature of the cricket changed. The edges stopped coming and in 15 overs another 82 were added to the Middlesex total before Murtagh’s luck ran out on 45 against what was, in the event, a poor legside ball from Mitch Claydon.Simpson soon fell too, attempting to lift leg-spinner Scott Borthwick over mid-wicket, but the target for Durham had swelled to 130 when it might easily have been 60.After Will Smith had fallen to Murtagh in the fifth over of the Durham chase, Paul Collingwood was beaten for pace as Finn began to work up a head of steam and, after Ben Stokes and Michael di Venuto had fallen to catches at the wicket in their attempts to force the pace, it soon became a matter of merely deciding when to shut up shop for the batting side.Phil Mustard had a go but once Dale Benkenstein and Ian Blackwell had also departed there was no option but to block. It might have been different had Borthwick not been reprieved by a no-ball when he nicked Finn to Strauss at first slip, but then Onions these days is no mug with the bat either.

Daniel Vettori has declared he will come out of Twenty20 international retirement and has made himself available for the ICC World T20 in Sri Lanka later this year. Vettori has not played a T20 international in more than two years and retired from the format in March 2011, although he continued to play T20 domestically at home and overseas. At the time, Vettori said he was taking a break from one-day internationals but might return, although he said he had definitely played his last T20 international. His change of heart has come with the World T20 only three months away, and one of the major attractions is that it will be played in spin-friendly conditions in Sri Lanka.”Dan was the number one ranked Twenty20 bowler in 2009 and is widely regarded as one of the best Twenty20 exponents in world cricket,” David White, the New Zealand Cricket chief executive said. “His availability is a real boost for the Black Caps with his style of bowling well suited to conditions in Sri Lanka.”Vettori has played 28 T20 internationals, the last of which came against Sri Lanka in Florida in May 2010. He has competed in all three ICC World T20 tournaments so far, and is seventh on the all-time wicket tally in World T20s, with Shahid Afridi and Saeed Ajmal the only spinners to have taken more wickets than his 18 at 16.05″Twenty20 is a format Dan enjoys and the opportunity to be part of a team which competes at a world event is enticing for him,” Kim Littlejohn, the NZC national selection manager said. “He has been encouraged by his team-mates, coaching staff and others at NZC and we are thrilled to have him in the mix. He will offer a lot to the side.”New Zealand’s preliminary squad for the World T20 will be named on July 18. The tournament begins on September 18 and New Zealand have been drawn in a group with Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Topley helps end Kent hopes

Kent’s Friends Life t20 hopes ended as they suffered two calamitous run-outs during a 23-run home defeat to Essex under lights in Canterbury

06-Jul-2012
ScorecardKent’s Friends Life t20 hopes ended as they suffered two calamitous run-outs during a 23-run home defeat to Essex under lights in Canterbury. The Spitfires’ fifth defeat of the campaign confirmed the exit of the 2007 champions but Essex, with five wins and 10 points, could still qualify by beating Hampshire in Sunday’s final round of South Group games.Sam Northeast and Darren Stevens were run out in embarrassing fashion in the space of three balls as Kent made an appalling start in pursuit of their 150-run victory target. The hosts lost opener Sam Billings to former Kent seamer David Masters 27 balls into the response and then, with only 21 on the board after the Powerplay overs, Rob Key attempted to accelerate with an ambitious clip to leg only to play around one from James Franklin.Although Essex used six bowlers in the opening 10 overs of the reply, Kent’s top order were seemingly unable to master any of them and limped to the mid-point of their innings on a paltry 42 for 2. They suffered a setback soon after when Northeast, having been dropped at deep midwicket by Tim Phillips, clashed with third-wicket partner Stevens when crossing for a second run and was run out by the return throw by Phillips.Stevens endured a similar fate one run and two balls later when, in calling for a single to cover, he was sent back by Azhar Mahmood and run out by Reece Topley’s throw.Mahmood had only 11 to his name when he perished in attempting a late cutagainst Masters, while Alex Blake slogged a brace of sixes in his cameo 16, but fell when aiming another maximum against Topley and Kent’s chances of reaching the last eight effectively went with him.Having been invited to bat, Essex lost New Zealand allrounder Franklin without scoring after he steered the second ball of the night from Mark Davies into the hands of Key at short midwicket.Former Eagles’ captain Mark Pettini then combined with Greg Smith to add anenterprising 98 in 12 overs for the second wicket, with Pettini the mainaggressor. The diminutive right-hander took 15 from one over of spin by Adam Riley, including a brace of sixes, the second of which landed in the top tier of the Frank Woolley Stand.Pettini scampered to a 36-ball 50 but, with 99 on the board, Smith departed to a catch at deep mid-off against Stevens before Pettini, having been sent back when wanting a single to short leg, fell to a run out from Key’s throw.Stevens struck again by having Ryan ten Doeschate stumped without scoring and, with the overs fast running out, visiting captain James Foster attempted to clear the ropes only to pick out long-on and give Stevens excellent figures of 3 for 13. Owais Shah clipped a last over six against Azhar Mahmood, however, and Essex were comfortably able to defend their total.

O torcedor é reflexo do nosso desempenho.

Lyth, Bairstow find form

Adam Lyth and Jonny Bairstow both scored centuries as Yorkshire moved into a dominant position against Leicestershire

There was a reminder of golden eras for both Yorkshire and Leicestershire on the second day of this match. The Fernie Suite in the Grace Road pavilion was being renamed in honour of Ray Illingworth, who played for both teams in seasons when they were powers in the land, and the great man turned up for the occasion. Now 80, Illingworth clearly has deep affection for his two counties, but he was Yorkshire president until last March and there is no secret where his heart lies. So one might infer that he will have greatly enjoyed watching Adam Lyth bat in Yorkshire’s first innings. The opener has had a thin time of it this summer, first finding it difficult to break into Andrew Gale’s team and then making just 86 runs in five innings before the current match. So Lyth’s career-best 159 not out against Leicestershire was a triumph of temperament as well as craft, and his celebratory skip when he reached three figures evinced obvious delight. And what may have pleased Illingworth just as much as the fact of Lyth’s achievement was the manner of it: the opener can be a fluent strokemaker and reached his half-century in just 76 balls with eight fours; yet when Yorkshire were stumbling on 112 for 3, Lyth drew in his horns and grafted for a further 120 deliveries to reach his hundred. He constructed an innings around the requirements of his side. But Lyth was not the only visiting batsman to reach three figures on a day when the architecture of this match began to take on a slightly clearer shape. For most of the last two sessions of the day he was partnered by Jonny Bairstow, who has probably been told that his only means of getting back into the England team is by scoring bucketloads of runs in county cricket and waiting his turn.By making 118 off 144 balls against an attack he treated with progressively more disdain Bairstow began to accomplish the first part of that task. His third Championship century of the season was filled with the thrilling drives, powerful pulls and impertinent sweeps which his advocates have cited as evidence of his precocious class. The contrasting styles of Bairstow and Lyth during their partnership can be gauged from the fact that Lyth was on 63 when his partner arrived at the crease and that Bairstow required only three more deliveries to reach 100 than Lyth had needed to score his second fifty. It was a deeply effective combination.”Jonny is obviously a class player and he batted fantastically well today,” Lyth said. “I was in the seventies for 30 or 40 balls, but when you’ve got someone like Jonny scoring at four or five runs an over it takes the pressure off.”Lyth and Bairstow put on 197 in 48.4 overs for the fourth wicket against an attack that was held together for most of the day by Claude Henderson, who bowled unchanged for 35 overs from the Pavilion End. The slow left-armer took the wicket of Gale and went for less than three runs an over, although he was both hit for six and reverse swept by Lyth, once the Yorkshireman had reached his hundred. By then the opener once again had regained the licence to bat with more freedom, another thing which old pros like Illingworth might have appreciated. In the last hour of play Matthew Hoggard took the new ball and Nathan Buck broke the partnership that had bedevilled his team’s day when Bairstow was, in the professionals’ argot, “turned round” and edged the ball to Greg Smith at slip. Gary Ballance followed four balls later, lbw to Hoggard for a single and the day ended with Lyth and Anthony McGrath batting for the morrow.Yet for all that Saturday will be remembered for Illingworth’s honour and the Lyth-Bairstow stand, Yorkshire’s progression to a position of strength in this match was not as facile as a glance at the second-day scorecard might suggest: Joe Root was castled by a low-bouncing Buck delivery in the fourth over; Phil Jaques, having batted fluently and found the boundary frequently in making 30, top-edged the same bowler straight to deep backward square-leg, Matthew Boyce one of two fielders who had been deliberately placed for just such an eventuality; and when Gale carelessly cut Henderson to backward point five overs after lunch the promotion-chasing visitors were still 208 in arrears on first innings. For half an hour or so the Yorkshire effort was in the balance as Henderson and Buck extracted plenty of bounce from a Grace Road pitch that may prove rather tricky on the final day. The visitors hope that will not be their problem, though. If Lyth and McGrath can dig in tomorrow morning, Yorkshire will aim to bat only once in this match. Ray Illingworth would approve.
