Opinião do setorista – Futebol Latino

Everton now in talks over selling "hard-working" £50k-p/w player in January

Everton are now in talks over selling a “hard-working” player – and would be willing to sanction a move on one condition, according to a report.

Everton looking to sign a striker

Sean Dyche is keen on bolstering the Toffees’ attacking options this January, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future still very much up in the air, having been unable to tie the striker down to a new deal to keep him on Merseyside beyond the end of the season.

The Englishman is eyeing an exit in January, with Sevilla now believed to be leading the race for his signature, while his representatives are said to be in talks with the La Liga side.

As such, a number of replacements have been identified and an approach has been made for Borussia Monchengladbach striker Tim Kleindienst, with Everton asking for more information, having been impressed by his performances in the German Bundesliga.

Rangers striker Hamza Igamane has also caught the eye, in light of his goalscoring exploits up in Scotland this season, although it may be difficult to get a deal done for the forward just six months after arriving at Ibrox in the summer.

Everton’s need to bring in a new striker may be exacerbated even further by the uncertainty surrounding Beto’s future, with reports from Italy detailing that talks are being held over a move to Serie A side Torino (via Sport Witness).

The Italian club are gearing up to offer an expensive loan deal, willing to pay a fee of up to €4m (£3.3m) while also covering the striker’s salary, but it appears as though the Toffees are not interested in a deal of that nature.

The Merseyside club have reportedly made it clear that a departure is only possible with a permanent exit, either immediately or via a loan with an obligation to buy.

The 26-year-old is keen on a move to Italy, meaning talks could develop quickly, despite only being at the early stages at the moment.

Everton make approach to sign international striker who has no weak foot

Everton’s results have improved, but they’re still struggling in front of goal.

ByBarney Lane Dec 28, 2024 Deal there to be done

A deal should be possible this January given the Portuguese forward’s apparent intentions to leave and the fact that he has failed to establish himself as a regular starter at Goodison Park.

The £50k-p/w striker was full of emotion after scoring a late equaliser against Fulham earlier in the campaign:

No one can doubt Beto’s passion, with Richard Pessoa, his coach at Portimonense, lauding him as “hard-working”, but he has never managed to find the back of the net regularly in an Everton shirt, scoring just three Premier League goals last season.

As such, if the former Udinese man wants to return to Italy this winter, Dyche should not stand in his way, but bringing in a replacement should be a priority given that Calvert-Lewin’s future on Merseyside also remains uncertain.

Monchengladbach forward Kleindienst has 14 goal contributions in 15 Bundesliga games this season, indicating he could be the perfect option to lead the line for Everton.

£50m player now interested in joining Tottenham after initial January talks

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou is privately urging Spurs officials to take action, with a “complete” player now keen on joining the club before January deadline day on February 3.

Tottenham trying to improve squad further after Antonin Kinsky signing

Spurs sealed their first signing of the winter window by striking a £12.5 million deal for goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague, with the Czech taking part in his first training session this week and appearing ready to go.

Kinsky comes to N17 as back-up for the injured Guglielmo Vicario, following some unconvincing performances by Fraser Forster in between the sticks recently, but the 21-year-old is by no means the only item on their to-do list over these next few weeks.

Tottenham could make three major January signings before time runs out, according to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, with the Lilywhites also believed to be pursuing a new centre-back and forward.

Spurs are among the frontrunners to sign RC Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov, as per GiveMeSport, but they face stiff competition from the likes of Premier League champions Man City as they battle for the Uzbek’s signature.

Postecoglou is without Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Ben Davies until late January, while left-back Destiny Udogie is facing six weeks on the treatment table, motivating the north London side to gauge the market for defensive reinforcements.

Meanwhile, credible media sources have also shared news of Tottenham being firmly in the race to sign out-of-favour PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani.

The France international is not in Luis Enrique’s plans and has been axed from the PSG squad completely. Spurs are one of his main escape routes, with Postecoglou’s side actively exploring a deal for Kolo Muani, alongside the likes of Man United and Juventus.

Despite his misfortune at the Parc des Princes, those within the beautiful game regard Kolo Muani as one of the best attackers available for hire right now.

His best-ever season yielded a return of 23 goals and 17 assists in all competitions, during the 2022/2023 campaign at Eintracht Frankfurt, and these numbers suggest he could be a golden transfer opportunity.

Randal Kolo Muani interested in joining Tottenham after initial talks

According to GiveMeSport, Postecoglou and co have been handed a boost in their pursuit of the Les Bleus regular. Indeed, it is believed Kolo Muani has expressed an interest in joining Tottenham after “initial conversations”, but it is unclear whether these talks have been club-to-club or to the player’s representatives.

The Lilywhites also have a significant advantage over fellow contenders Juve, as they’re prepared to negotiate a buy-option clause, whereas the Old Lady only want Kolo Muani on a straight loan deal as things stand.

France'sRandalKoloMuanireacts

In light of these developments, Postecoglou is apparently pushing Spurs to act quickly and strike a deal for the forward, with Tuesday seen as a key day in the race for his signature as multiple suitors circle.

Kylian Mbappe has called his international teammate a “complete” player, and Kolo Muani’s past performances indicate that he could be a real asset for Spurs if he can rediscover his form.

If Tottenham opt to activate a potential future buy-option, the price PSG want is reportedly around £50 million.

Glenn Maxwell brilliance takes Australia to narrow victory

A limping Hasaranga claimed four wickets after a sparkling innings but it was all in vain

Sri Lanka put up a commanding score, got early wickets, were decent through the middle, and looked for much of the chase like they would defend the rain-adjusted 282 off 44 overs. But then, Glenn Maxwell, pulled the rug from under them with 80 not out off 51.He arrived with Australia needing 93 off 84 balls, with five wickets remaining, and immediately took on the role of aggressor, on a Pallekele surface offering significant turn. Clearly he loves this ground, since he’d also struck a 49-ball T20I hundred here in 2016.But this innings was more methodical. He waited for errors in length, and used the reverse sweep to good effect, to keep Australia’s requirement at roughly a run-a-ball. He trusted the lower order up to a point, but then was also good at farming the strike towards the close. He faced 15 of the 18 balls in the ninth-wicket stand with Jhye Richardson. And when he got balls in his area, he struck successive sixes off Dushmantha Chameera to win the match with nine balls to spare.Wanindu Hasaranga, who was limping for much of the match, claimed four wickets to keep Sri Lanka in the hunt as well. Debutant left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage also contributed two wickets, including that of Steven Smith. But Maxwell took both for plenty of runs, hitting 20 off 12 against Hasaranga, and 18 off 10 against Wellalage. That, essentially, is where he won the match.Maxwell dominated the legside. All but one of his six sixes came in the arc between backward square leg and wide long-on. Only once did he seem slightly uncomfortable, and that was against the pace of Chameera, who by the end he had walloped for three sixes.Wanindu Hasaranga worked through injury to produce a fine all-round performance•AFP/Getty Images

Earlier in Australia’s chase, Smith had hit 53 off 60, Finch made 44 off 41, and Marcus Stoinis provided the middle-order impetus following a long rain break, with his 44 off 31 balls, which featured four fours and two sixes. In all this, the highest partnership was the 67-run stand between Finch and Smith, and there was only one other fifty-plus stand. Sri Lanka kept taking wickets, but never in serious clumps.Through Finch, Smith, Stoinis, Maxwell, and even Marnus Labuschagne and Alex Carey – who both got scores in the 20s – Australia kept pushing themselves closer, and crucially, puttered along at a good run rate. Rains came down when Australia were 72 for 2 in the 13th over, clipping six overs from the chase. Perhaps the slightly slippery ball and deliveries skidding on to the bat helped Australia somewhat. But there was rarely a point at which their batters did not look composed. When they had begun the chase, the target was 301 off 50 overs, and Sri Lanka had mounted a score of 300 for 7 thanks to their openers, who put on 115 together, and Kusal Mendis, who hit 86 not out off 87. For the hosts, Pathum Nissanka made 56 off 68, and Danushka Gunathilaka hit 55 off 53, surging through the first 19 overs, before their wickets in quick succession slowed Sri Lanka’s progress. Mendis massaged them through that period however, with no little help from Charith Asalanka, with whom he forged a 77-run stand.Sri Lanka seemed headed for a score of around 280 off their 50 overs, which seemed pretty good on a slow track, until Hasaranga crashed five successive fours off Jhye Richardson in the 49th over, and put Sri Lanka in the vicinity of that 300 mark. Hasaranga’s 37 came off 19 balls. It seemed at that point that Sri Lanka had a fantastic chance of defending this total, because they had three frontline spinners in the XI, and Australia’s best bowler had been Ashton Agar, who took 2 for 49 from his 10. But these predictions clearly didn’t account for Maxwell. Sri Lanka will feel like they should have won this one. Maxwell’s hitting was just a little too good.

Visitors stumble in run chase before Middlesex old boy seals points in last-over finish

Josh Davey returned to haunt his former team-mates as Somerset beat Middlesex by two wickets in a Vitality Blast thriller at Lord’s to qualify for the quarter-finals. Davey, who began his career at the home of cricket before heading south-west, took 1 for 25 from four frugal overs before striking Chris Green for six as the visitors won a see-saw encounter with two balls to spare. The Cidermen had looked like chasing down a target of 161 with some comfort thanks to Tom Banton’s 39 and 36 for skipper Tom Abell, but Jason Behrendorf’s 3 for 30 and two wickets on debut for Max Harris made it tight before Davey’s last over heroics.Earlier, Middlesex’s tally of 160 for 6 owed much to Chris Green’s unbeaten 44 and 41 for Luke Hollman, but it wasn’t enough to prevent their ninth defeat of the competition. The hosts were soon in trouble after being invited to bat, Davey getting home skipper Steve Eskinazi caught at cover with only seven on the board. Holden too perished early, caught at deep square and John Simpson missed out, skying Lewis Gregory to Will Smeed at midwicket.Joe Cracknell threatened briefly with two big sixes, but when he paddled Ben Green to short fine-leg Middlesex were 55-4.That Middlesex reached any sort of total was down to Hollman and Green. Hollman hit both Green and Peter Siddle back over their head for six before the latter extracted revenge by having the allrounder caught in the deep. Green was even more impressive, driving Siddle into the grandstand and plundering five fours to guide the hosts to the respectability.Tom Helm struck early in the chase when the dangerous Smeed miscued him into the hands of Behrendorf at mid-off. Banton struck back courtesy of a top edge over the wicketkeeper’s head for six, while Rilee Roussow greeted Harris with a drive over cover for four. However, the youngster sent the man with almost 500 runs in the competition packing next ball, wicketkeeper Simpson taking a skier from a top edge.Banton reached 39 before being castled by Thilan Walallawita’s top-spinner and the hosts spied a glimmer of hope when Harris struck for a second time to remove Tom Lammonby, leaving Somerset 95 for 4. Abell swept Walallawita for six, but he perished too, losing his off stump trying injudiciously to reverse sweep Green. All of a sudden 42 were needed from the last four and when Jack Davies held a stunner to remove Gregory off Behrendorf the visitors were creaking.Behrendorf removed Green to a catch in the deep only for Craig Overton to strike his first two balls from the Australian quick high into the stands. Behrendorf’s retort was to have him caught at cover to leave 10 needed from the final over, but Davey had the last word to send Somerset to the knockout stages.

Chelsea now favourites to sign £70m England star in "sensational" transfer

Chelsea have emerged as the frontrunners to potentially strike a head-turning transfer deal, following some intriguing news out of the Premier League this week concerning an England star.

Chelsea planning to sign new defender for Maresca in January

Credible media outlets and respected journalists are claiming that Chelsea are seriously considering the addition of a new centre-back in January, amid Wesley Fofana’s long-term injury and Benoit Badiashile’s absence.

The Blues have been courting him for over a year.

A report from The Sun this week even stated that Chelsea have already had a low-ball offer rejected by Crystal Palace for Marc Guehi, but this is yet to gain traction among the national press.

What appears certain, though, is Chelsea’s serious interest in a January deal for Guehi, with renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano and respected colleagues sharing news that the 24-year-old Selhurst Park star is a serious transfer target for this month.

Romano says that the Blues are also now in contact with Palace over a deal for Guehi, but it won’t be easy, despite the Englishman having just 18 months left on his current deal.

Other rumoured central defensive targets for Chelsea include Tomas Araujo [Benfica], Antonio Silva [Benfica], Ousmane Diomande [Sporting], Illia Zabarnyi [Bournemouth] and Dean Huijsen [Bournemouth] – as per reliable Stamford Bridge reporter Simon Phillips – so the club bringing in a big-name new defender certainly looks like one to watch before deadline day on February 3.

In terms of other positions, Chelsea did consider signing River Plate’s midfield sensation Franco Mastantuono this month, and they remain hard at work to sign the Argentine, but it is a move more likely for the summer as things stand – mainly due to the costs involved in a winter deal.

That being said, Enzo Maresca’s side now sense another golden opportunity to bring in one of world football’s most exciting young midfield starlets.

Chelsea emerge as favourites to sign Man United star Kobbie Mainoo

Indeed, according to The Daily Mail’s Chris Wheetley, Man United star Kobbie Mainoo is at the centre of a contract stalemate at Old Trafford.

Kobbie Mainoo

PSR issues are making it hard to tie the teenager with a new and improved deal to reflect his status as a key Red Devils mainstay and England international, with the 19-year-old rising star unbelievably earning a meager £20,000-per-week right now.

This has put BlueCo on red alert over a potential opening to tempt Mainoo down south, and it is believed that Chelsea are now favourites to sign Mainoo from Man United, if he decides to leave over the next two transfer windows.

Wheetley describes this as a “sensational deal” if Chelsea manage to pull it off, and it is hard to disagree with the reporter who broke the news on Tuesday. Since this report broke, GOAL suggested that both Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are valued at around £70 million.
